Session Highlights

Day 1 will kick off with Workshop A: Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, moderated by Shahid Shah. This session features a lineup of esteemed speakers, including Mark Clements, MD PhD CPI FAAP from CHILDREN’S MERCY HOSPITAL KANSAS, who will discuss the transformative potential of the Rising T1DE Alliance and the D-Data to transform care via the integration of CGM and other clinical data. Ali Cinar from the Illinois Institute of Technology will share insights on AI technologies that enhance diabetes treatment, amongst other sessions.

Following a break, Workshop A, Session 2: Real World Evidence for Diabetes Trials will take center stage, moderated by Sun Kim from Stanford University. This session will delve into the application of real-world data in diabetes care, including a presentation on harnessing the University of California, San Francisco’s health data warehouse to learn effective and safe treatments in Type 2 Diabetes, presented by Rohit Vashisht.

In the afternoon, Workshop B, Session 1: New Diagnostic Tests will highlight advancements in diabetes diagnostics, moderated by Dr. George A. Brooks from University of California, Berkeley and Koji Sode from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. The session will include presentations from Aaron Kowalski from Breakthrough T1D on current research programs and Zoe Quandt from University of California, San Francisco, who will discuss the role of antibodies in diagnosing diabetes.

Finally, Workshop B, Session 2: Drugs, Insulin, and Technology will be moderated by Guillermo Arreaza -Rubín from the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK) and The National Institutes of Health. The session will include key presentations, including Alexander Fleming’s on solutions for age-related and drug-induced muscle loss. Day 1 will conclude with a Q&A session and poster presentations.
